The work you guys do is amazing! I’ve just recently gotten into gilding and frame finishing and have watched your youtube videos as inspiration for months! I had a question about the sgraffito process that oddly enough I can’t find an answer to online: What paint is used on top of the gold leaf and how is it prepared to be easily scratched away? Is it casein or clay bole? Thanks for your time!

It’s casein. That’s the only paint we use. It scratches away easily and needs to be sealed once finished.

Can you make B559 in a 4 to 5 inch width and with a 36 X 48 inch rabbet?

Yes we can. Most of our frames can be customized.
